So sad, but kudos to the people trying to help. I actually cried at the end... go Lou!

Although I love the three parrots who share my home I don't recommend having one as a companion pet. My 3 were are captive born. I worry about who will love them after I'm gone.

including a Patagonian mackaw.

They will come to live with us if the unfortunate were to happen.

You could rehome them with us! They would be in good company.

Related, your place must be noisey! I'm always amazed at my parents' aviary situation when we visit. They converted their dining room into the habitat for their feathered friends. It's comical and entertaining to watch, actually.

She was hatched in early in 2001. She enjoys her freedom whenever I'm home. She wants some of everything I eat or drink. Yes, she's very spoiled.
Pookie was a rescue Lesser Sulfur Crested Cockatoo. She's the difficult one as she seems to dislike most women. She has earned the name can opener with wings. She will bite.
Chloe is staying with us while her owner is off driving a truck. She may have a home.

At this time we also have 12 Diamond Doves.

You and I should keep in touch.
I don't see needing a home anytime soon but that would take a huge worry off my mind. Thanks for your offer.

Isn't the Patagonian one of the ones disappearing from the wild?

Three of the four birds (including the Patagonian) are rescues from previous owners whose ambitions exceeded the realities of how big, loud, and expensive it iis to keep these creatures happy.

My parents are really blessed with affection that they offer. There is one in particular, Luna who I would have apprehensions to adjusting with. She is fiercely territorial against men in general. My father has been attacked twice. At any rate.

Do keep in touch regardless. My parents know an extremely well-knit community of compassionate captive birders in the event that something were needed.

Have a great day, ITW!

There are 3 PBS stations in the DC area, so we'll have a good choice. AND, they rerun them whenever.
