The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsJust wanted to thank you all again for your help and support.
I made a video after I got out of the hospital -- where I really needed to be, honestly -- if any of you are interested. But since DUers already donated through Wishadoo, while this has a link to a second fundraiser a friend suggested I start because I hadn't wanted to ask for much from my friends on DU so I minimized what I really needed.
So this video is not supposed to link to the fundraiser, it's just an update to let you know how I am. Ignore any fundraising stuff, and I'm not posting the link. You guys have done far more than I ever expected and I still haven't been able to thank the four anonymous donors that helped me out.

(68,644 posts)I believe it's the first time a DUer has posted a video of themselves like this, except for semi-pro blogger types.
I have seen commercials for Abilify, not surprised that it's costly as the ads are really slick and expensive.
I wish our country could do more to manage the prices of meds.
Take care!

Of course, video gives me triple-chin even though I weigh 113 at 5'1. It's better than the 97 I was in December -- Ensure rocks, but is expensive. No, I'm not a competitive blogger or anything... I just know most of my friends don't get to see my face.
If I can get whatever long-acting bronchodilator paid for with a prescription assistance program, as well as my localized anticholinergic and my rescue inhaler (I use my updraft machine instead of a rescue inhaler puff because it's cheaper), as well as Celebrex, under patient assistance, I should be able to get a lot of my prescriptions for cheaper. Or very cheap, in January.
Right now, with everything I'm supposed to have, the cheapest place I can find it all is Kroger, 5 $4 generics and 6 brand names is $1482. (Well, Singulair is available in generic, it's just not on any $4 lists. And Ventolin or another one of the HFA rescue inhalers is only $45 if I stick with the same pharmacy like my doctor prefers.)
