It appears explicitly on the list five times!
- Masturbation & syphilis
- Masturbation for 30 years
- Tobacco & masturbation
- Deranged masturbation
- Suppressed masturbation

I'd like to know how they differentiate some of the other categories. What is the difference, for example, between "domestic affliction" and "domestic trouble"?

"imaginary female trouble" and "uterine derangement"?

Yeah, masturbation for 30 years gets you in, but so does suppressed masturbation. You just can't win.

It's really difficult imagining such learned men walking around muttering seriously about these symptoms in their patients. Whatever would they think of Furries or drag reviews?

would have a great time at a Furry convention! Think of how twisted the mind that made this list must have been.

Most people today don't seem to have much idea how horrifying the supposed 'good ole days' really were. The doctors of that period weren't beasts at all; that was simply the level of knowledge available at the time. Just be glad you were born when you were.

an exact one at that.
A lot of guessing still goes on today.
And a lot of revisions to former definitions.

not to mention "Novel Reading" and "Women Trouble" (though I doubt their definition of that comports with mine).

Teabaggers have mental excitement, jealousy and religion, deranged masturbation, brain fever, bad company, gathering in the head, political excitement, over study of religion, laziness, immoral life, kicked in the head by a horse, superstition, greediness...if three or more is enough to get you sent up, that many should be enough to get you lobotomized, pumped full of thorazine, and your balls cut off so you don't contaminate the rest of the world.

I have a few of these:

Political excitement
Politics
Bad habits and political excitement
novel reading
laziness
overtaxing mental powers
mental excitement

and probably several more.

Damme, I dunno if that is a mental illness, but if it takes you that long I'd say you have some serious physical problems!
