If you weren't sure how much of an asshole Gene Simmons is..

I give you this:

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/gene-simmons-open-to-rock-hall-of-fame-kiss-reunion-with-ace-and-peter-20131217

A few excerpts from the article:

1. Tell me your first reaction to the big news(*inducted into RRHOF).
Pride. For me, it's another tug of the shirt sleeve to remind me that the American dream is alive and well. I'm living proof of it. I came here as an immigrant, a legal one – that's a distinction –

2. Do you mind at all that the critics often ripped on you guys back in the day?
No. I'm too rich to care. I'm such a privileged bastard, are you kidding? I get paid more money than some Third World countries. What do I have to complain about? The fans love us. We love them. Not everyone loves Jesus, either. I remember when Rolling Stone called the first Led Zeppelin album a "limp blimp."

3. So, it's nothing personal against Eddie Trunk or anything?
Oh, I don't care. I wish everybody well. Everyone should have a happy life and succeed and stuff. Just because we don't want to do a show doesn't mean anything. I'm not really interested in Jon Stewart's show, either. That doesn't mean we don't wish him well. It's just not my cup of tea. I don't want to be a pinata while he's going to throw jokes. But if he wants to play mano a mano, you gotta take it as well as give it.

And I'm not a fan. I've heard him say a lot worse. Usually sexist stuff.

To me an asshole has to do something to harm someone else. Like you I can't stand the guy.

Or as I like to call it slydexia!

My writing and comprehension skills are above average but ironically I've always struggled with spelling, punctuation and some grammar issues. Go figure

He's just a T and A guy. I don't think he cares much for anything else a woman might have to offer.

All he did was attack her it was really bizarre.

I found the beginning of the Terry Gross interview:

Yesterday and this guy is the biggest asshole I've ever, ever heard! I'd heard through the years that he was awfu during that interview and OMG he 's a disgusting excuse for a human being. For absolutely no reason at all. His behavior was horrible beyond words. I think she was shocked. I never cared for Kiss anyway. IMHO they don't deserve any acknowledgement.

I think he took offense at her assumption that he was something more than the character he played on stage. It seemed she thought all his sexist bullshit was tinged with at least a little bit of satire and/or self-awareness, and he disagreed.

I was impressed at how she handled it, and thought he came off incredibly poorly.

It was definitely bizarre.
