Catster Heroes: The Family That Rescued Two Kittens From a Box in the Snow

On Dec. 27, just two days after Christmas, a man made a surprising discovery on his way home from work. Temperatures were below freezing and snow was falling, and when the man pulled over to determine whether the roads needed plowed, he spotted an orange and white kitten sitting on top of a polystyrene box. The surrounding ground was white, so it’s amazing he saw the box at all.

After clearing the roads, the man returned with his daughter, Tara, and they located the box in the woods. It contained two kittens -- and they were in bad shape.

“We saw the kittens inside the box cuddling for warmth,” Tara says. “Their condition was awful. They were freezing, dirty, and sick. We were certain one of them weren't going to make it through the night.”

styrofoam container...someone who couldn't take them but wanted to make sure they were safe...glad they were found...they would not have survived otherwise...and they turned out very pretty.

According to his recent feed, the styrofoam coolers are very good makeshift homes for them in snowy and cold weather. Most of the ferals near him are too wild to bring inside.

Took in as kittens, except India, because they can be tamed when they're that young...aftera certain age, all you can do is feed them and tnr them so they don't reproduce!

And thanks for continuing to post kitty stories.

If I lived closer, I'd help out.

Walter White and Jessie Ginger...

Two absolute sweethearts (Who are getting way too big now)... they were just tiny when I saw them. I never had a rescue kitten do this before... they literally ran into my arms.
