Advice needed - I may (reluctantly) go on a "cougar hunt"

First, a little background. Many of my girlfriends over the years have been older than me - it just worked out that way with no planning on my part. And ChickMagic, my wife of just over 10 years, was about 13 years my senior. She was my best friend and my pearl of great price. But she hinted that I should find someone new in case anything happened to her. The words Ginny used were "some sweet young thing," if I recall. However, given my track record with women, another older woman would be just fine with me.

I've been a faithful mourner, and now that I have a little bit of money to play with once again, I want to get out and learn how to be social once again. Part of that means meeting attractive women, hence the idea of hitting a local bar on Valentine's Day where older, available women have been spotted in considerable numbers.

Since I am woefully out of practice, I could use a few pointers. I'm not looking to just get some pretty lady in bed on a first date - that's not my style. I want to have fun, maybe flirt shamelessly with aforementioned pretty lady over a couple of drinks, maybe get a big fat smooch (or several) if all goes well. I figure that for every lonely widower like me, there's a fantastic woman out there who for some reason has had bad luck in the romance department, and I'd like to think that maybe there's a chance for a new beginning.

Any advice you can share? Sorry if this sounds dorky and all, but the last time I actually pursued any woman was the early to mid 90s, so I feel a bit rusty.

let her see who *you* are.

Speaking for myself...if you can make me laugh...you're way ahead of the game.

Just a thought--did you know there are dating sites specifically for people looking to date older women aka cougars.

Good luck!

Every once in a while, in the middle of a conversation, I'd ask some question with all seriousness, and she'd find it so funny that she couldn't help but laugh.

Thanks for the advice!

And thanks for the encouragement. I absolutely refuse to use pick-up lines - never used them before, so why start now?

... and make sure to replace the tape on the bridge of your glasses. Old dirty tape can be a real turn-off.
