the tail end was near the Rio Grande/Mexican border and the head end was in chicago...a solid line, bi-secting the country.
Amazing massive weather system.

Very early heat wave and hot desert winds up to 70 mph. Sunday the power went out in the L.A. area when power lines were knocked down. Every year there's a ten day heat wave with Santa Ana winds in late summer. This year it's here early and it's been going on for the past couple of weeks. Even my pet desert tortoise wants to come inside from the bone dry heat.
