One (is The Loneliest Number)--I can't stand that song.

And there are definitely times when one is better off alone than with someone else.

One (is The Loneliest Number) Lyrics
"One (is The Loneliest Number)" was written by Harry Nilsson.

One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you'll ever know
Yes, it's the saddest experience you'll ever know
'Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do

One is the loneliest number, worse than two
It's just no good anymore since you went away
Now I spend my time just making rhymes of yesterday

One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest
One is the loneliest
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do

It's just no good anymore since you went away
One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do

It's my personal tastes that finds their sound too commercial, too slick and keyboard driven.

and i just had a crazy notion about the lyrics...

what if the "number" they are singing about is not math but weed, such as in the word "joint"

to do a number is to smoke a joint....
maybe that's what the lyrics are referring to.
