I arrived at my building and saw some kid about 5'10" - 5'11" around 17/18 outside the building and he entered the foyer when he saw me make the turn to come into the building. He followed me inside and stood by me, arms crossed, staring and said "tie my shoe. i can't do it. tie it." I said no, got on to the elevator and reported the incident to the building's super.
Turns out he's a few years younger and somewhat mentally-challenged. It's a mid-sized building and I just moved in. I know my neighbours around me but I don't know anyone on other floors. I'd hate to think I hurt someone's feelings but I just found it weird so I phoned the super to report it.
I don't know what floor he lives on but if/when I do see him, I'll make a note to say hello and introduce myself. Maybe I shouldn't have phoned but still....you can't tell what people are truly like in this day and age.
I do feel miserable for calling but I had no way of knowing. All I knew at the time was some guy who towers over me followed me into my building and stared at me whilst asking me to tie his shoes. I thought he might be high.
