(51,122 posts)Whenever I was home, he stuck to me like glue.
When he got old and sick with kidney failure, the vet gave him about a month to live.
He was always obsessed with going outside. We figured he had nothing to lose, so we let him be an outdoor cat during the day.
He DECIMATED the chipmunk population in our back yard, and lived another six months.
Feel sorry for the chipmunks.

(55,124 posts)Prissy, our miniature chow passed away two nights ago (she was 15). She went while we were sleeping.
Dancy, David's mother raised her from a pup. She is still torn up about it. But Prissy had a great life and that's all that counts. It's really hard losing a beloved pet.

(2,535 posts)Usually I give my cats Russian names, such as Boris Kotenko Mitlov, or Koshka Yekatrovina. Boris looked like a meatloaf, so that was a pretty obvious name.
Some have been more obscure, like Thrice. He was a brindled cat, and I was acting in MacBeth when he showed up on my porch.
Currently, my fur monsters are Hastur The Unspeakable and Natasha Krospina I, Empress Of All The Cats. Like Thrice, they're obscure literary jokes.

grasswire
(50,130 posts)....while her owner went to Ireland to grad school. Finster was her name. The funniest thing about her was that when she lived with her owner, he regularly would see her coming home with a Chinese take out carton in her mouth, swinging from the little metal handle. They lived a block behind a Chinese restaurant. She would bring home take-out, a full carton.
Funny.
