Is this movie based on the premise of the 80s TV show starring Edward Woodward?

I loved that show, back then. Great theme song, too!

1. I loved that show.

I don't think I watched it during the original run in the 80s. But I caught it in reruns on A&E in the early 90s when I was getting acquainted with Law & Order. (Fell in love at first sight with a young Patricia Clarkson in one of those old eps.)

and Patricia Clarkson was in Law & Order?? OMGosh, I have always loved her..... dang, NEVER watched any of those Law & Orders, or NCIS shows, but dang it, if I would have known Patricia Clarkson was in it, I would have. Looking forward to Denzel's version of the Equalizer.

4. No, she was in an episode of The Equalizer.

Husband got killed on their wedding day or some such. Equalizer was running around the hotel smokin' vatos, and she thought it was just oh so exciting, and he of course was totally annoyed as usual. Equalizer hates cute.

8. Loved that show and will catch it at the theater

I haven't seen a movie at a theater in 4-5 years, but I will see that one. I loved that show. It and others like it affected my professional career path a little too much. Magnum, Rockford, Equalizer, A-Team.....I too quit the government to work on the private side and did a lot of pro bono work and protection details.
