tropical hibiscus should not be outside when the temperature drops below 50 degrees.
Three plants were moved into my dining area Friday afternoon. The sliding glass door is blocked by a 5 foot tall blooming bush.

(17,005 posts)the weather is just perfect for a good nap. But I sure understand how you feel since the house does shrinks filled with plants. Here in Central Florida I have lots tropical plants too and I have gotten to the point....they make it or they don't when a freeze comes through.
I know the hard winter you had last year and I do hope you have a decent Indian Summer. Fall up there is lovely, just hope it lasts longer for you all that live up north.
Here I look forward to drier air and 70s' would be purrrfect!

(72,300 posts)It's a photo snagged off the web because it makes the point clear. Big dog, big plant, small house.
Central Florida is a wonderful place to live.
I prefer your wishes over the Farmers' Almanac predictions.

(4,299 posts)'cept we only get hard freezes every seven or eight years.
You stay warm and we will try to stay cool (70° now, 102° later).

(28,394 posts)Rottweiler?
I have a bunch of plants to bring in too..... I hate trying to find space for them. I used to take them to school and put them on the wide windowsills there.
But since I have retired, I guess I'm stuck with them in the house! This house is really lacking in good windows for them.
In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)The windows in my house just don't let in enough light either. I'm down to a very few plants. I picked up a new stag-horn fern, an orchid and another ponytail palm (to replace the one that died last winter).
Yes, the dog is a Rottweiler, not mine.

(66,383 posts)So it's probably a good thing I live in the Pacific Northwest.
As long as I'm inside, warm and cozy, anyway...
I like being closed into the house, with no sense of obligation to go outside, or go somewhere, or do anything...
I get called a workaholic by some people, but when I'm not working, I'm indolent to the point of being comatose...
