(27,837 posts)In his early days, when he played in the South, he was bared from staying at most hotels & motels because of his race....so he slept in his "Caddy" a lot.
Maybelline is a great song, by the way.

(50,561 posts)It was about a dystopian future where the eeeeeevil government banned cars that run on gasoline, and the narrator's weekly drive through the country in an illegal car.

(8,492 posts)Thanks for saving me the effort. I play this for Walter (my Rodeo) after his bath.
Yes, I am very much in love with my car. He's named after the late, great Walter Payton.

(9,070 posts)Born To Be Wild
Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space
I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space
Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
I never wanna die
Born to be wild
Born to be wild

(27,837 posts)I saw Wilson Pickett several times back in the '60s at the old Fillmore.
There is a movie called "The Commitments" (about a bunch of Dubliners who start a "soul band"
The first song they try is Mustang Sally..and they are terrible at first;
but later on in the movie, they do a version of it that is truly great!
It's an excellent film...very funny..and with some very good music.
