... sliced off the other ear, didn't he? Now I'll have to double-check that. There is a self-portrait with a bandaged ear. Shoulda eased up on the absinthe. That shit'll make ya crazy.

It's supposed to be his left ear. But remember, Van Gogh was painting a mirror image. The self-portrait with a bandaged ear shows the bandage on the right side; which is the left in a mirror image.

My fiance and I were hosting a Halloween soiree, and I made him up this way! It was a ball. I dressed as Marilyn Monroe, and got creeped out after the party...apparently, my whole looked was very appealing to ol' Vincent.

Vincent and the Doctor. Unappreciated in his life, Vincent gets to visit his exhibit in 2010, courtesy of the TARDIS.

The ending brought me to tears.
Later, seeing his work in person at the Amsterdam Hermitage, I had the same response!

Big like! Zowie. How do you do that? Coat is chalk. But what about the face? Yep. Jealous.

was a Chia Pet during my senior year of college. I took an old tweed sportcoat that my dad gave me. I mixed up some grass seed, potting soil, and water. I spread the mud on the tweed and hung it up in the garage. The lining made it so I could wear the thing, but it soon was too warm to keep wearing it in the bar. I did win the best costume prize however.
