power went out. electric company said about 2-3 hours. got generator going.

took about 30 minutes to take it from storage, fill with oil and gas and tinker with it until it started.

yay!

then mrs. unblock asks how do we know when the real power comes back on?

i say some things are connected to the generator and some are not. so just check the microwave because that's not on the generator.

literally, as we walk over to the microwave, regular power comes back on.

we got about 45 second of use out of the generator.

money and effort well spent, i tells ya!

Were I living where winters were harsh, tho, I might have a gas gen like you.

Always play it safe!

And it's good to run them from time to time.
