Dogfish Head to Create Brewpub Exclusive Beer for Breakfast Brewed with 25 Pounds of Scrapple

You may ask yourself; “What could Dogfish do to a breakfast beer that would be both off-centered enough to don the Dogfish insignia and traditional to the Breakfast Beer style?” Here is what they plan to infuse this brew with:

• Maple syrup harvested from the trees at Northfield Mount Hermon, the high school in western Massachusetts where Sam met his wife, Mariah.

• Barley smoked over applewood from Delaware’s Fifer Orchards, for that applewood, bacon-y aroma.

• Lactose, or milk sugar.

• For the quintessential Delaware touch, 25 pounds of a super-lean version of Rapa Scrapple’s famous recipe.

• Last but not least, a special blend from The Bean Factory in St. Paul, Minn. The coffee, added cold press post-fermentation, is a nod to one of Sam’s all-time favorite bands, The Replacements, who hail from Minnesota and were a fixture on Sam’s radio every morning back in 1995 as he mashed in.

Oh and it's named after this song by the Replacements. How cool is that!

Currently we are getting quite a lot of Lagunitas beers over here, but Dogfish Head are the US Brewery I would love to see over here again.

The two most exciting breweries over here at the moment are Wild Beer Co & Siren Craft

Although the prospect of a beer brewed with ketchup is too frightening to contemplate.

....then putting peanut butter in beer.

A brewery local to me has done just that. I thought it was one of the most unpleasant beers I've had this year. Nonetheless some people must have actually liked it as Thornbridge are launching the bottled version of it as "Charlie Brown".

a breakfast meat you don't have over there; it only exists in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. Pennsylvanians (and apparently Delawareans, like Lynne and the Dogfish brewers) serve it with maple syrup, while Marylanders like myself serve it with ketchup,.
