'Blade Runner 2' Is Happening - But Not with Ridley Scott

http://flavorwire.com/newswire/blade-runner-2-is-happening-but-not-with-ridley-scott/

ad news today for the half-dozen Ridley Scott fans left on futuristic-present-day Earth: Scott, creator of Alien, Blade Runner and the soon-to-be-released whitewashed version of the story of moses, Exodus: Gods and Kings, is no longer set to direct Blade Runner 2. Harrison Ford, the man who played Rick Deckard in the original, will be appearing.

This was revealed in an interview with Variety (via Slashfilm) in which Scott talked about the script work he’s done with writer Hampton Fancher. Scott says the sequel to the beloved sci-fi flick will follow a distinctively three-act format, with Ford, apparently, appearing in the third and final act. This makes sense, seeing as the plot is said to be centered around the search for Deckard, who has disappeared since the events of Blade Runner transpired, living off the grid, probably stuck between the dueling dimensions of the seven editorial versions of his life.

The director for the film is yet to be found, but production is set to begin in 2015.
