So my mother, who lived through the Great Depression, is on the way to pull out as much cash as she can out of the ATM. Should I be worried?

but she said it didn't eat her card. LOL ...She says it will take the U.S. a week to fix any problem and she will use the $200 sparingly.

(30,775 posts)5. How old is your mother?
My mother does some unusual things when she feels she is not getting enough attention. My mother is 86.
This sounds like something my mother might do. Good luck.

But yeah my mother has several friends who are super worried about money and actually do keep some in a mattress or similar. One actually buries a small amount in the yard. I told her to mark the spot because the soil can shift. LOL.
