Sadly, I only have over-the-air TV these days, so I won't be able to get my fill this year.

I watch them all. Even the sappy, predictable "modern day" ones on Hallmark. I'm a sucker for them all.

Hope you're feeling better soon CT. Hope I never have to experience shingles. Blech!

in you. Nothing you can do. You can also get a milder form of shingles, also. Mine just happened to be particularly bad. After I am fully over it, I will get the shingles vaccine. My pharmacist does them. Hubby got his shot from them a couple of days ago so he should be protected.

But a few years back we started the tradition of watching all three LOTR movies (extended edition) in succession on Thanksgiving.

The tradition lasted a couple of years until the big screen TV died (I know what's wrong and intend to fix it any day now - just give me a few more months).

That's about it...

I'm old and mean and cynical and I don't like treacly, sentimental movies. I do kind of like "Scrooged," "A Christmas Story" and "Bad Santa," though I probably won't go out of my way to see them. I'm more into the second season of "Fargo" right now.

I've been doing some research and have been creating lists of holiday movies from the 20th century. You can find it here.

Also, the lesser-known older ones that I enjoy are The Christmas Gift, The Gathering, The Homecoming and Scrooge (1970). The two newer ones I love are Karroll's Christmas and Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever.

Not the classics, but 101 variations of the same script. I sometimes wonder what the eminently forgettable actors, writers, and directors got paid for them. My mother loves them, though.

It featured one of the actors from another favorite, "The Shop Around the Corner" (and the actress who was the good witch in "The Wizard of Oz&quot . It was on YouTube. I love "Christmas in Connecticut" and "The Bishop's Wife." Even though it's a bad movie, i have to watch "Mixed Nuts," if only to hear Rita Wilson's character comforting a crises hotline caller with "Well, that's something to remember, isn't it. No matter how bleak things may seem, at least you don't live with your mother."
