Right next to my great uncle, Joe Louis, in Arlington National Cemetery.

I always wonder what kind of conversations they have with each other in the afterlife.

Great movie, by the way. One of my faves as well.

That's pretty cool.

My grandmother's sister is buried is Arlington. She was a nurse in WWI.

Prime Cut, which has some rather shocking work from Sissy Spacek. Gene Hackman plays a pretty nasty bad guy. Not a perfect film but has its moments.

The Professionals. Kind of interesting Mexican revolution era film. It was the last film Marvin was in before The Dirty Dozen made him an A-list star. Burt Lancaster is the real star of this one and Jack Palance plays a Mexican revolutionary. Interesting film from Richard Brooks who next made the superior In Cold Blood.

My favorites of Marvin's are still The Killers, Point Blank, The Dirty Dozen, and Emperor of the North.

Love that movie. (Although I realized while watching it the other night how racist/sexist it is and felt guilty for liking it.)

I just watched a YouTube video about him yesterday. It was about 'Things You Don't Know About "The Dirty Dozen".'

Apparently, Marvin was a pretty racist guy, I'm sorry to say.

Anyway, his performance in TBR-1 was incredible.

In the TBR-1 he was channeling his inner former Marine.

Saw most of his films but never much cared for his being a dick bad guy roles.
But then I don't care much for shoot 'em ups and John Wayne types

Next favorite was cat Ballou (eta)

My dad says he was one of the nicest guys he ever met. He talked with him for quite a while. They were both WWII veterans.

In contrast, the met Michael Landon on another cruise and said he was a complete jerk.
