It's been a while since I have updated everyone on my dad's colon cancer.
All of the original cancer seems to be taken care of, but a couple more spots showed up on recent scans - one on the kidney and one in the lung. One possible in the colon again, but hard to tell right now. He's going back on chemo, but a modified version. Fortunately the new spots are small. But all thoughts and prayers would be appreciated - this is a really difficult disease. He still feels pretty good. Thank you all for your support.

(65,173 posts)It's been about a 3 year struggle now. And he's the same age David Bowie and Alan Rickman were, which scares me a bit. But fortunately it still seems controllable.

God Speed to your Dad.

(24,565 posts)for strength and comfort for your dad, you, and your family. It is a difficult disease, and chemo is wretched treatment. I know from having been there it is heartbreaking for the family to see suffering they can't help abate, and enormously stressful for both patient and family to live in a heightened state of anxiety for so long. I hope your dad continues to manage the chemo, and that the treatment will be successful.
