http://www.sfgate.com/lifestyle/article/KFC-customer-finds-lung-attached-to-chicken-6809494.phpMarc Nicholls, 30, bought the three-piece meal from a KFC in Labrador, Queenland, Australia, according to Metro. When he took a bite out of one of the chicken breasts, he discovered some type of organ inside the piece and was revolted by his discovery, according to media reports.
It was disgusting, it was absolutely vile, he told the Daily Mail Australia. I pulled a piece off [of the breast], then found that and spat the rest out....
A KFC spokesman told the Daily Mail the piece of flesh was likely a chicken lung or kidney that wasnt removed during the food preparation process.

(12,022 posts)Having gutted chickens myself (on a farm) I know that you have to dig deep to scrape out the lungs. Not surprising that sometimes it's not completely removed. There's absolutely no food safety issue here. What's the big deal?

(34,136 posts)That is unless the chicken involved is chicken tenders - or whatever those flavorless lumps of dry meat like substance enveloped in fried batter are.
It's not as if lungs are poisonous or even taste bad, unlike some of the other organs that could be left inside a carcass.
