(34,119 posts)and had forgotten what we called them (baby corn) so being the ever precocious child he asked us at dinner one night, "Where do you get amateur corn?" Of course he meant immature but that made it even funnier. I think he was 3, about the age that those funny mix-ups seem to happen.

(14,947 posts)One time I made applesauce and apparently put too much cinnamon in it. My then 3 year old asked me "What is this?", pushing it around his plate like it was plague ridden. "Applesauce" I said. "Looks like apple poop" was his response.

(34,119 posts)Out of the mouths of babes. I think that is such a riot, thank you for sharing that. They do leave us with things we will never forget. We all have so many. When I give my goats little animal crackers to entice them where I want them I always call the animals by the names my kids called them. It seems so odd but then again it feels so good! Apple poop, that is a good one!

(43,049 posts)mixed in with the other nameless stuff. I love 'em although I run into a few people who are freaked out by them. Mostly women, for some reason I don't understand.
I have a few cans lying around that I toss into soups and stirfry's here and there.
