wow. having a sane conversation w the ex.

young son is in a bit of a fix, and i appealed to his dad for help.
he didnt tell me to get screwed. and even after the kid told him to fuck off, he is still getting some good advice and trying to keep communication open.

i breathe a sigh of relief that we can still act as parents together.

so glad to be through the slog of it all, and out the other side w/o lifelong animosity.

a long time chicago cop. irish, from donnybrook.

i guess this makes her really part of the family now. what a concept that i still have a family. thought that was gone for good.

A FAMILY!

My son in law's a cop, Irish too (American, but the heritage is close.) A fine family.

Other son in law also has Irish heritage, plus Italian. Those 2 met today with their attorneys, so terms of divorce finally reached. The kids get to maintain relations with the entire family.

i prolly would, too.
she seems like she is really good for him. getting him up off his butt, for one thing.

my animosity is all gone. not gonna be a sore winner. lol.

No sore winner here either, considering lovely home I can afford (to rent) due to survivor benefits, 'his' federal health benefits, and soc sec.

Took us a while, tho, eh?
