I will not be posting here at DU anymore tonight.

Wife had bought a box of chocolates for her mother for Valentines Day but decided not to give it to her as she tried a piece and thought it wasn't very good.

I ate most of the chocolates earlier tonight before I noticed there was sticker on the box that stated "SUGAR FREE May Result in Laxative Effect".

Signing off now as I am at the start of a wild ride.

Which allowed things sweetened with sugar alcohols like xylitol. Found out why it was allowed on the diet - it has a "negative calorie input" effect.
Feel better soon.

Built-in portion control. And I say this after indulging in some sugar-free dark chocolate-covered espresso beans.

I couldn't figure out why I was cursed with this awful problem. It was interfering with my social life. No matter what I did, it seemed to be getting worse. I tried lactaid. I tried avoiding this food and that etc.
I was seeing a gastroenterologist and he couldn't offer a solution.

Finally, I found an internet irritable bowel support group.

My problem was caused because I swallowed sugarless gum. (Anywhere from 4-6 pieces a day)

I still chew my sugar free gum, but I spit it out!
