Question about hidden posts

Hey you guys...

I know this probably should be directed at the administrators, but it can take several days to get a response there. It's a simple question and I'm guessing some vets here know the answer. I was looking for a longtime DU member and noticed he/she hadn't posted in a month, even though he/she is normally active.

When I checked that person's profile and noticed that he/she had 5 hidden posts in the past 90 days. So I'm wondering if that resulted in some sort of suspension? Anyone know if that's the policy?

will get the account "flagged for review". However, the hidden posts do not roll off of the account and the posting privileges reinstated like they did prior to the changes in the jury system that occurred on June 20, 2016. Whether an account is reinstated appears to be totally at the discretion of the administrators and it is quite possible that the account may stay flagged forever. Consider it to be DU purgatory.

I am aware of many members that are on FFR status for months and that contacted the admins, but weren't reinstated. I do hope that you will be able to contact the other person somehow.

how striking it is to a relative newbie like myself, when I Google keywords to see if threads have already been created on certain topics, to get a sense of the number of DU members who are no longer active. There are many member accounts with 10,000 to 40,000 posts that were ostensibly abandoned several months ago, I'm guessing due to the tensions of the democratic leadership race.

I've read references to the turmoil that ensued here, but the extent of the carnage is hard to appreciate for those of us who have only been around here since last summer or fall.

It's really too bad.

rather challenging for many members no matter which of the Democratic contenders one supported. One hopes that folks will find their own best path forward be it here, other sites or through whatever means works best for them.

I remember that it used to be that a suspension would "time out," but anyone who is Flagged for Review can only be reinstated by the admins.
