(11,464 posts)from all the musicals to Day of the Triffods, to Clayton on Dallas and everything in between.
Also like his records he made of standards.
what a voice. (and met him once super nice person).
(BTW on Dallas Larry Hagman(who was the son of Musical star Mary Martin), brought alot of her old friends to the show, and Keel alluded to his musical past several times during the run.
edit to add- how can i leave out my personal favorite musical- Show Boat.

(11,464 posts)Personally think Cary would have been better than Jimmy in Vertigo and especially Rear Window.
Cary and Grace were perfect in To Catch a thief.
I always thought it didn't seem like Grace would be with Jimmy in Rear Window.

(3,510 posts)and decided to go to the IMDb discussion board to see some recent comments. Couldn't believe how some posters ripped the ballet sequence apart and railed on Leslie Caron's looks. Some people have no friggin' class.

(16,987 posts)I shouldn't be surprised at the extremes, but I still am. There are some intelligent discussions (I dropped by the Danny Kaye board one time and was impressed) and then there are the obsessive types, the context-free, and people who are deluded enough to believe they could come up with a better script than Billy Wilder's.

(11,464 posts)for those stars and films that are not the very most popular ones.
Once you get into the films like American in Paris, someone always will tear it down.
But with someone like Danny Kaye, I think only fans of his would comment on him.
Never understand on the IMDB (or for that matter Youtube), why people who don't like a certain film or movie waste their time commenting when there are 1000s of others they can be watching, talking about.
And I only have good things to say about Danny, being that he was in White Christmas,
and while it was written for Fred Astaire, I think Danny, being more comical, played it perfectly, especially with the phony ankle scene to get the general away from the tv.
