(6,154 posts)Love how the two types of flowers play off each other, the size contrast and slight differences in shade of blue work very well here.

(46,436 posts)I was just out taking some shots of my gardens, and this little scene popped out at me. I didn't have to move anything or do anything special, it was perfect "as is." A happy coincidence.

(6,154 posts)Most of my best shots are just me walking around eyeing stuff when "BOOM" there's a perfect shot! In fact most of the ones where I try to capture "something", fail.

(46,436 posts)The mother plant didn't make it through our weird winter, but a bunch of babies came up from seed. So far only one flower, but everything is running a little late this year. We had repeated thaws and then hard freezes through the winter and a very late snowfall. I was actually pretty lucky with my flowers ... Some people lost old lilacs, delphiniums, peonies, all plants that usually sail through our winters with no problem.
Even our local newspaper gardening expert says everyone needs to start adjusting their gardening habits in response to climate change. We've already added 2-3 weeks to our growing season compared to years ago.
