These pictures are nothing special, really, but the place is magnificent.
I wish I could have waited another ten minutes, when the sun started shining on it, before taking this photo.

There are breathtaking views of the surroundings once you make it to the top.

The facade of the abbey is beautifully mottled with lichen.

I thought this was a nice shot of a colleague of mine.

(7,394 posts)I just noticed your avatar. This isn't eggzackly appropriate for the photo group, but have you seen my take on that?
I made a christmas card out of it.

(90,769 posts)Did you send it out?

(7,394 posts)No, it was never a real card, only a virtual one. During the dubya years I did many, many such photo montages. Some of them are in my journal, if you're curious.

If someone would make me choose my favorite it would be: a dramatic architectural shot

(7,394 posts)This was my second visit to Mont Saint-Michel. Both times were for concerts. It's a special treat to be able to play in such a place.

(22,380 posts)I'm surprised at the landscape, have to google and locate and learn. I have not been there.
The photos are simply wonderful, I like the first one very much and the architectural shot of course.
WOW and thanks.
I'm happy to have introduced you to this beautiful place. It's a Unesco World Heritage site.
Glad you enjoyed the pics!
One of the singers posted a picture of herself on facebook, and I took the liberty of doing a quick little mischievous photoshop job on it.

(22,380 posts)Only you would go sleuthing and find slimy decrepit hands to scare me like that.
I missed them at first because I was sleuthing myself. In the sky. For your more customary UFO.
It's nice to see you, and Hi back at you. I googled and looked at Mont Saint Michel. Looks better in your photographs.

(7,394 posts)Just stunning!
Of course, as is often the case, these fairy tale places are real tourist magnets.
We were there doing a concert, which meant that for a while, between "closing time" and the concert, we had the place to ourselves.
