I have an uncle who died in that battle. German army uncle.
Now I have a Russian sister in law, whom my brother met on a train in Siberia.

That is a magnificent sight.

Things in Kiev are calm now, family is fine. We hope it's not the calm before the storm, but there's so many things that could go wrong and too few people who seem to have any idea what to do. But we remain hopeful for now.
