(19,459 posts)I take inspiration from your lovely shots over the Chesapeake.

(130,975 posts)Mine are over the Patuxent River, which is a few miles west of the Chesapeake, and as I do have a little beach, it's nothing like yours!

(46,436 posts)You know how much I love that area. I spent more time in Bolinas than Stinson, but it's all very familiar. These are gorgeous photos.

(19,459 posts)That's high praise coming from you.
I had my Nikon with me but these were captured with my i-phone, and the Snapseed app for some minor adjustments.
The sky was right, and the birds and water cooperated.

(31,395 posts)When I'm out shooting sunrise at the beach, my dog, Snowy, is with me and she won't let me get close enough
to the gulls to get a good shot!

A Beauceron, and two Chihuahuas. They have to stay home on the photo shoots because I can't control them and use the camera at the same time.
It's like trying to walk a pack of squirrels.
EDIT: "photo shoots" is a bit too grandiose for what I do...should have written "whenever I take my camera anywhere where other living creatures may be found...

(19,459 posts)The light on the water was what intrigued me most.
Looks like our rain is almost over.

(6,594 posts)I spent many days there, with dinner at the SB Grill, or the place across the street, the Sand Dollar I think it was called.
However, I remember the cold winds & the ocean ... freezing! The water was usually around 55 degrees if I remember correctly. I could only stay in for 5-10 minutes if it was a hot day & I was brave.
It was beautiful but I've come to love Florida. The ocean here was 85 degrees a couple weeks ago ... like swimming in bath water. Ahhhhhh ...

(19,459 posts)Yes, the water is very cold. The surfers usually wear wetsuits. We had a friend from San Diego with us...first time in Northern California, and he was amazed at how cold the water is.
We hit the beach at a good time; as you know, it can be very crowded during good weather.
I know what you mean about bathtub water seas. We have been to the Virgin Islands a couple of times, and I'm always amazed at how nice and warm the water is.

(3,608 posts)Hard to believe you used a phone camera. The reflections are awesome!
I love Stinson, wish I could get out there more often

(19,459 posts)There is an app for phones called Snapseed. You can do quite a bit with it as far as post-processing goes, adjusting values, etc.
Anyone who likes to use their phone for photos will probably find it a useful tool.

(27,451 posts)I love the reflections in the watery sand. Gotta get myself over there one of these days.
I love Snapseed. It's a great app!
