This is the camera I use. It is micro four thirds, and has a wide range of excellent lenses. Olympus uses the same sensor all through their product line, so you get the same sensor as their pro models.

(7,347 posts)I'm going to buy an SLR for now, though, but I like my p&s Sony for it's size - fits in my chest pocket. When it wears out I'll probably get another similar sized camera. I'll definitely check this one out.

(60,074 posts)Right now, DSLR's have the upper hand, in part due to the wide range of lenses. They won't go away, but they will have to adapt and innovate to hold on to market.
What the mirrorless has on its side is the willingness to take chances. Look at Ricoh/Pentax. They come out with some weird wonderful cameras. Samsung makes so very handsome cameras, but sadly they don't get much love in the US.

(15,577 posts)are they trade ins? Do refurbs have the same life as new? I am one of the people this resonates with. Ready to move from a P&S but don't know where to go. I do know Olympus has a great reputation...........
