(36,827 posts)It's really nice to sit out and watch a bluebird pair take their fledglings out for a dip in the pool.

(36,827 posts)If I do, usually it's in February or March when they first arrive and sometimes I get a second one after the first moves out, but some years I get none. I've gotten a pair to move in the last 3 years, so I think I have some repeat customers.

(131,107 posts)We have osprey nests here, and last spring/summer we watched for littluns, saw parents roosting, but only saw the 'babies' when they were 'teenagers' due to our perspective; couldn't see INTO the nest, which is/was on roof of boat house at the creek.

(36,827 posts)All they need is for the homeowner to provide a box and to run out the house sparrows. I've never gotten any great pictures of them because although they will allow you to get pretty close, the range is still outside my camera equipment. I could set up a makeshift blind easily enough, but I'm content just to watch them from my backyard.
