My camera goes for about $350 now. It is the bottom of the Olympus line, but Olympus uses the same sensor on all models, so I am just sacrificing external control and weather sealing.

Do you feel that the present camera is not suiting your needs?

Are you looking for an interchangeable lens camera, or a point and shoot?

HAD Nikon, with several lenses, years ago; 'lost' due to life changes. Miss the lenses, but like easy portability of the samsung.

Would like to work with lenses now that I have time and a place and y'all, tho vision's not as good as it was. (DID have cataract surgery recently, but need glasses for camera work now which wasn't the case in the 'olden' days. NUISANCE!)

Take a look at the mirrorless cameras from Sony, and the Micro 4/3 cameras from Olympus and Panasonic/LUMIX. They are smaller and lighter, but have a smaller sensor than the Sony. Micro 4/3 has a good lineup of lenses. They are generally lighter than the ones on the Sony.

SURE wish I had my old Nikon + lenses, tho heavy, and carried it to Europe several times (along with kids! Have albums to prove it!)

13. I found DSLR's too heavy since my injury. Mirrorless is much lighter.

You will be impressed with the compactness and light weight of the micro 4/3 and the other mirrorless cameras.

16. The shopping is the fun part. I only use money from working the polls on election day.

Change I save also helps pay for my toys.

http://www.dpreview.com is a good resource for reviews.

Take your time, and while you are shopping, take a bunch of photos.

peace, quiet, tranquility, almost standing still in time... but just ahead... time rushes by, moving, speeding along.

The light and shadows are the perfect complement to that feeling.
