Had NO idea how I'd find a subject, but was out today driving around DC suburbs at sunset looking for autumn scenes, and voila!

having discovered that Paul Wellstone's plane went down 11 days prior to the Election 2002--and after
he had been threatened by Cheney who was rounding up support for the resolution for the Iraq War.
Wellstone voted his conscience and 11 days prior to the election...gone.

The Memorial Garden spot is on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill, looking out on Polk Place, which is named
after the 11th President of the US, James K. Polk, also an alumnus of UNC-Chapel Hill. Wellstone held a B.A. and Ph.D. from UNC.


I also took photos of the Sundial at 11 AM on 11/11, but they didn't move me.

20. Abstract is good.

It allows for a lot of creative interpretations. I, being a literalist, had to find exactly 11 objects somewhere (ELEVEN - 11 birch bark baskets. Hahahaha, in my best Count voice), but I'm loving other people's more original takes on the subject.

25. If I had to do it

I would make two threads and proceed as usual. 3 days of voting as always- this is not a first time for threads with low numbers of photos.
Then I would have a final thread of one third the number of entries- 4 or 5 top photos. The top 2 in each thread plus the next highest vote getter.
And I would be proud to have gotten the response I did, the theme forced us to think. I like that.
You asked and that's my answer.
