Appletinis in the Ice Museum

Here is everyone sitting around the ice bar drinking their appletinis from their ice cocktail glasses. Everything here is carved from ice, including the bar, the barstools and the chandeliers.

Martini glasses for the next tour

The workshop where the magic is created.

This ice museum is kept open year round, ironically kept cold by the geothermal power generated by the hot springs.

The lighting looks tricky, and I'm wondering about keeping the lens clear in that environment.

I especially like that first image.

I had the ISO up high, but some of the pictures I took in there were still pretty soft. I didn't have a problem with condensation because it was also cold outside. In fact, I think it might have been a bit warmer inside than out.

I don't get the fascination. I HATE being cold.

That said, these are some lovely photos. I really like the colors and design in the first one.

What a neat place! I've heard of it but never seen pictures... very nice!

I like all of it but the skull thong, not sure why I am averse to skulls as decorations but that's just me.
