My husband and I drove around France for a month on our honeymoon in 1985. We spent a lot of time in the Loire Valley. I lost all my honeymoon
photos in our fire several years ago, so I have especially enjoyed seeing your chateaux photos, which bring back many memories.

By chance, last night we went to a special Loire Valley dinner at our local French bistro. All the wines were from the Loire Valley.

Here's the menu:

I'm also in Chapel Hill. Eat at Kitchen fairly often.

Getting ready for several weeks of traveling, ending with a week in Paris.

But I think I prefer 'le pays' outside Paris.

Have spent more than a year total in France over the last forty years. Have seen many areas, eaten a lot of great food. I like the countryside and Paris. This trip, I'm spending the other weeks in Spain and Maroc.

Do have to miss one football game. Should be back before all the leaves turn.

We were at Versailles a few days before you, so we had bright sunshine. I am clueless as to how to post our photos, but in general yours are much better than mine anyway!
