My oldest son broke his wrist when he was 4--falling off the ladder to the tree house which he'd been told not to climb on New Year's day with a friend
who was over for a playdate. I saw them up in the tree house from the kitchen window (youngest was in the high chair having lunch) and before I could
get him out of the high chair and my coat on to go outside--boom-he fell.

I hope you were at least doing something fun and naughty!

is still in the hospital

It happened during the snowstorm. Sitting in my concrete floor basement on a rickety chair that had a huge blanket on its back I pulled the blanket to the fore with my usual fast movements and the entire chair fell backwards and my wrist broke when I tried to catch the fall.

It hurts. And now I must get a carpal tunnel operation in that same hand, it had been simmering and dormant, but the break woke it up.
I know it's too much info. I whine.

Lola, a tiny baby still, had been whining when it happened. As soon as I started to howl and paced in circles around the stairway to the top - knowing I could not carry her back up - cradling my wrist for at least a half hour while trying to figure out who to call and what to do she just sat and stared a me without a sound. She should become a therapy dog. Students I know have begun to come and just play with her when they are under stress.

I love her so much.
BTW
she can do steps now like a pro.

I have it in both wrists--also from the same era as when my son fell off the tree house ladder.

I went out and broke ice up on the driveway using a shovel to crack the ice--of that same house--one winter day and gave myself carpal tunnel syndrome in
both wrists as a result.

Oh, poor Lola. And poor you!

Doggies know. They do. They just know. Snowy sends Lola a woof!
