Jeff Flake supports Jeff Sessions

Senators care about one thing more than anything else - getting reelected. It is much more powerful to remind them of something which many voters in their state support or oppose than to focus on your personal views.

For that reason, I just called Senator Jeff Flake's Washington office. I did not leave a message for him but pressed 5 to speak directly to someone in his office.

When I had someone on the phone, I asked him how Senator Sessions stance on medical marijuana impacted Senator Flake's support of Sessions. I pointed out that the voters of Arizona had voted 3 times to legalize medical marijuana and that we had to do so because the legislature refused to enact the laws we kept passing. So the third time we wrote a law which was impossible for the legislature to block - because that's what Arizona voters do when we're pissed off. Medical marijuana is the one place where Sessions does not support State's rights and he's made it clear that he is going to go after medical marijuana - and that's going to anger the Arizona voters. I asked for a response from Flake. Medical marijuana is not the most important reason I oppose Sessions, but it is the one which just might get Flake's attention. I encourage my fellow Arizonans to also call Flake's office (I called Washington so he'd get the message sooner: 202-224-4521, 602-840-1891, 520-575-8633)

I posted this on FB and tagged all my AZ friends (except the one conservative one
