VOTE in one week - Derek Cressman for SOS
If you haven't already voted by mail.
The June 3rd top-two primary is just a week away and it’s looking like it could be a record low turnout. If your friends are asking why they should bother voting, here’s what’s at stake in the Secretary of State race:
Do we want a Secretary of State who has spent years raising corporate money for his campaigns, or Derek Cressman who has spent his time working to get corporate money out of politics?
Do we want a career politician who is running only after being kicked out of the state Senate due to term limits, or Derek Cressman who has spent 19 years working to safeguard our elections with good government groups like Common Cause?
Do we want to give in to cynicism, or do we want to start taking our democracy back from powerful interests and getting real people involved in our elections once again?
Here’s how you can help:
1.) Send an e-mail to every California voter you know. Use your own words (or just forward this one) to explain why this election matters to you
2.) Sign my petition to allow us to Vote Down Citizens United http://www.derekcressman.com/votedowncitizensunited The California Senate will decide this Thursday whether to place a question on the November ballot to call for a constitutional amendment to establish that money isn’t free speech and corporations aren’t people
3.) Go to https://www.facebook.com/cressman2014 and invite all your facebook friends to “like” this page. Then, post a message to your own facebook wall reminding everyone to vote by June 3rd
4.) Make an on-line donation at https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/dcsos

If he and Padilla get to November, I will hold my nose and vote for Padilla.
