Does this summer in Florida seem a tad cooler than "normal" ?

I live near Daytona Beach, and it should be getting up to 92 degrees F or so every day (I live several miles inland from the ocean). I've lived in Florida my whole life. I notice for the last several weeks that it is "only" getting up to 88 or so.

Am I just in the shade in my location, or have you noticed this too ?

hit 90 until late june. we've had a couple of days this july that didn't get to 90. yeah, i think the temps are cooler. however, now that we're in summer, the heat index is killer. i won't go walking if there is no breeze.

The heat index is killer, indeed, but the air temps I'm seeing are not reaching 90 here except in a few locations. I've been very very surprised.

Our temps have gotten in the 90s--uncomfortably so--only a handful of days. The nights have been chilly enough to warrant jammies and a blankey.

Most unusual--and much appreciated! I haven't had an air conditioner on yet!

It was so nice to be able to garden this year. I am in Orlando and it has been humid and hot the past month. I have not looked at the averages to see if we have departed from them or no.

Seems just as hot and humid and mosquito ridden as every July

Maybe you are just getting lucky?

We've had every day up over 90 and an extremely wet summer. Even the rain doesn't seem to cool it off.
