Accountant is now accused of stealing $7M from Hawaii nonprofit

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A grand jury has filed a superseding indictment against a former accountant for a Hawaii nonprofit, adding an additional $1 million in fraud charges.

The new charges bring the total that Lola Jean Amorin is alleged to have stolen from the Arc in Hawaii to nearly $7 million.

It's the largest white collar crime case the city prosecutor's office has handled, officials said.

Amorin is charged with five counts of theft, computer fraud, money laundering.

And prosecutors allege she started embezzling from the agency as far back as January 1998. The theft allegedly continued until January.

so I'm only running at about half-speed. I thought about doing some laundry tonight, but it looks like I'm going to put off the work until later.

I'm also a bit bummed because I'm missing my 30th college reunion this weekend. However, with the health issues and a recent "bad haircut" it may be for the best. The good news though is that I am one of the few people in my class that still has all of his own hair even though a few gray strands have appeared on the side. I can also still fit into the same Levi's that I wore in college if I breathe in deeply to fasten all the buttons on the 501s and I have a better looking butt than when I was in college since I was underweight.

Hopefully, I'll dredge up a few more good stories tonight in the Hawaii and Alaska groups.

There are also issues with trying to hook up transportation and overall expense since it would cost between $300 and $400. At least I can watch the football game on the Internet on Saturday afternoon.

Maybe next one you'll catch.

I am glad Houston won the pennant, altho' I'm not currently a big b.b. follower.

We did go to a couple Yankee games when Reggie and Lou were playing. The crowd cheered, "Louuu, Louuu" when he came onto the field. If ya didn't know you'd think they were going, "Booo, Booo."😄

Then, "Re-ggie!, Re-ggie!"

I couldn't sit for the length of time anymore, pretty much for anything. Road trips, where I need to sit in an audience, like that.

I dunno what's happened to me.

Stay safe and be well.

If you have peppermint essential oil at home, it brings a quick relief of nausea. 2 or 3 drops on a piece of sugar.

I wish you a speed recovery.

but maybe the grocery store near me will have some. I don't have any sugar cubes around either and I'm diabetic so have to watch my intake closely. Between the anxiety attack I had on Wednesday morning and the overall cruddy feeling including sinus issues the last couple of days have taken a toll on me.

What caused an anxiety attack ? Do not answer if I'm indiscreet.

You can drop peppermint oil in water, it is ok too.

If you like cinnamon, it is known for helping regulate blood sugar. It doesn't replace meds of course but it helps a little.

Of course he shows up when I'm getting ready to go to bed and wants me to jump to take care of his to-do list. The added irritation to it all is that the previous day I had to make a special trip to the bank and store to wire him money, then sat in the store a half-hour since I didn't want to get drenched in the rain since I was on my bike. None of that was necessary since he could have waited to go to the bank here in town.

The task that will need my assistance is that I have a six month old kitten that needs to be spayed soon. If he had sent me a text or made a call before hand, then I wouldn't have mind but I already made my plans for the day which he disrupted.

Furrtunately, the kitten (Ruby) isn't in heat because the male cats in the apartment are already making their moves on her. Bachelor Cat #1 is a 2-year-old Siamese named Josie (photo below) who has the upper paw in the determination of purrternity rights since he has mastered the mounting maneuver. Bachelor Cat #2 is a 1-year-old long hair tabby (short black fur with long gray fur) that showed up at our apartment about 3 months ago and that I'm calling Mr. Bushytailed who enjoys grooming privileges. Bachelor Cat #3 is another indoor/outdoor short hair tabby with a bad attitude named Ralphie because he like to gobble his food and ralph it back up.

I know it would be better if there were pictures and I could Photoshop the stage set from The Dating Game in the background. Maybe Iz can haz Bob Mewbanks in teh fotos 2?

On choisit ses amis pas sa famille. It means litterally : we chose our friends not our family.

You probably have something that say the same.

Sometimes, mine drives me crazy but...its my family

The male cats are not neutered ? Is it not too difficult in matting season ?

I have a cat too, I'll try to find a pic. I don't know what breed is, he has long hair, green eyes, I named him Schumaker because he would probably win the race against Speedy Gonzales...

I found him a few years ago on my step door and since, he became a member family and he drives me crazy too... Pretty stubborn and go figure why, he loves to take a little (or big) nap on clothes I just laundered...never on dirty ones...

I have a lot of space around the house and many street cats live on. I feed them, they know it but very few approach. I even have a deer with her fawn. She don't come too close but she is not afraid of me. I feed her with potatoes and vegetable peels, especially in winters. I have a pic too somehere.

and choicest, don't they!

Our two kitty children (both reposed) let us live with them. Now our doggie daughter allows us to reside with her. 😄

I cook meals daily for dogga daughter. She will not eat kibble which I found on some doctors' recommendations that it's not that great anyway.

I make chicken tenders, turkey breast fillets, 93% or higher ground beef, sweet potato, green bean, brown rice, scrambled or boiled egg, and some 2% reduced fat shreddd cheese. When we treat ourselves to beef fillet, she gets some too. I mix poultry with wet Beyond chicken and beef with wet Beyond beef. The lady neighbor thinks Ima 'cucamonga'!😝

Wouldn't have it any other way.

Aren't animals wunnerful!

I was also thinking ginger. The health food store in town sells ginger chews. Can't remember the brand. Prolly not sugar loaded either.

I'll check onto it.
