Local reich winger: Kim Davis = St. Thomas More
Another hot steaming load in the TH today.
Kim Davis, a Kentucky county clerk, refused to violate her religious conviction. For this she was held in contempt of court, jailed, reprimanded.
In a similar situation Thomas More, England's chancellor, told Henry VIII, "I am the king's good servant but God's servant first." For this he was hanged (martyred) and canonized.
The defense of "just following orders" did not hold up at the Nuremberg Trials. The "Supreme" Court has arbitrarily declared same-sex unions to be legal marriages. Homosexuals demanded that the arrangement be called marriage (not civil union) in order to co-opt the legitimacy of divinely instituted marriage.
