Christmas Eve without any snow (here anyway)

Last edited Sun Dec 24, 2023, 09:40 PM - Edit history (1)

Open winters suck.

All those kids getting skis and snow shoes tomorrow morning are going to have a major sad.

I don't even know if there is enough ice on lakes and ponds to go skating...

Winter in Maine without snow and ice is effing boring.

Yup

Of course, "When I grew up in upstate NY, we had 4 feet of snow by December 1st." My memories from 60-70 years ago are probably a bit clouded....

Card and board games, puzzles, crosswords, word games (charades, anyone?). Notice I didn't suggest that everyone retreat to their phone/pad/tablet/etc.?

Enjoy conversations. Go for some nice long walks in the woods (forest bathing). Jog, run, crawl (in my case).

Pretty soon we'll all complain about winter, too much snow/ice, too many out-of-town skiers, etc.

We did have a foggy morning and a cloudy day with temps in the mid 50s. It’s 47 now. I think the weather guy said spring-like temps for a couple more days then it will be much colder, in the 30s for the New Year. I’m not looking forward to that. I’m good with mid 50s and no snow!!
