Related: About this forumCome to State Capitol 3/12 7am. Committee Hearing on "Right to Work".
Despite bipartisan opposition, supporters of the irresponsible Right to Work (for less) Constitutional Amendment are trying to move the bill forward.
They know that Minnesotans oppose this unsafe, unfair and unnecessary law, and have resorted to desperate gimmicks to try to pass it; including moving the bill from the Labor committee, where the bill didnt have the votes to pass, to the more business-friendly Judicial Committee.
What: Senate Judiciary & Public Safety Committee Hearing on the anti-worker Right to Work Constitutional Amendment
When: Monday, March 12 Doors open at 7:00 AM, the committee hearing starts at 8:00 AM
Where: State Capitol, Room 15
Please come to the Capitol this Monday morning to defend collective bargaining rights and show legislators that Minnesotans oppose this corporate power grab. We expect a large group so please arrive early!
This bill is nothing more than an attack on collective bargaining rights, designed to reduce the salaries and benefits of all workers, for the profit of the one percent.
People living in Right to Work states make on average $4.00 per hour (thats over $8,300 per year) less and have fewer benefits than do workers in states without these union busting laws.
This Bill is merely one of over 500 anti-union bills that have been introduced in Minnesota and in legislatures through the nation as part of a well-orchestrated and well-funded national campaign from the corporate front group The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) that drafts and disseminates "model" legislation in an effort to get these measures enacted across the country.

(6,119 posts)I still haven't listened to it but Matt McNeil on 950am radio in the Twin Cities was making fun of the GOP "plants". it was funny.
I just wish more voters would pay attention to what is going on.
