Actually I was on Lake Superior, brought the boat back into the marina at 10:30. Didn't see anything though. There might hav been a few small breaks in the clouds, but I did not see anything.

Other than the cloud cover, it was really clear, the storm must have pushed out any haze. Surface water temps dropped 10 degrees, the lake got churned.

On Friday, it was partly cloudy, and I could see some stars. I may have seen some faint red auroras to the north, but there's too much artificial light and trees in my neighborhood for a good view.

On Saturday, it was completely clouded over, no stars visible, even, so I gave up.

Back in the late 1960s or early 1970s, there was a spectacular aurora display visible from the Twin Cities, at least in the outer suburbs, where we lived. They looked like shimmering green curtains in the sky.

camera was freaking out with lines across it. Very cool.
