The New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange board voted Friday
It appears that the NMHIX intends to take yet more Federal money and do nothing!
The board does not care if all those receiving subsidies may lose them.
This state government is a disgrace!

The New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange board voted Friday to stay with the federal health insurance exchange for individuals in 2015.
The board voted 11 to 1 to stay with the federal exchange, HealthCare.gov.
“I don’t want to fool New Mexicans twice. We fooled them last year; well, the feds [fooled them],” Hickey added.
Board members were told by its IT vendors that the project completed on time, but there were other problems. The NMHIX did not have a contract for a full call center to be operational on time, and it did not have a security vendor in place.
“We cannot afford a disaster like the feds had,” said board member Matt Kennicott. “We have a huge number of pieces in play that are not settled.”
The delay in establishing a full-blown state exchange will come with a price.
NMHIX Interim CEO Mike Nunez told board members the delay would cost an extra $3.6 million at the most in terms of extended contracts.
The exchange is funded by more than $120 million in federal grants.
“While it may be more money, its the feds’ money, not our money,” Hickey said.

Court ruling means New Mexicans could face massive ACA premium increases
New Mexicans who bought individual policies through the federal health insurance exchange would lose an average of $214 a month in subsidies under a decision regarding the Affordable Care Act Tuesday by the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C.

That means that consumers in New Mexico and 35 other states who rely on the federal exchange for individuals could lose billions in subsidies that have been promised to them.
For New Mexico, 78 percent of the 34,000 people who bought insurance through the federal exchange are eligible for the federal subsidies the appellate court declared illegal, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Nationally, about 86 percent of the 5.45 million people who bought through the federal exchange could lose those subsidies.
