Weiner Pledges In Ad To Not Leave Mayoral Race Because NYers "Don't Quit"

NY1News

Anthony Weiner has put out a new online ad defending his decision to stay in the mayor's race despite the latest sexting scandal that has rocked his campaign.

In the ad, Weiner says that calls from other candidates and the media for him to quit the race do a disservice to New Yorkers.

"Quit isn't the way we roll in New York City. We fight through tough things, we are a tough city. There are people all around the city with a tough day ahead of them and they don't quit," Weiner said. "But it's really not about the campaign and it's not about the candidates and it's not about me. This is about helping New Yorkers because they understand this is about them."

Weiner's poll numbers took a steep drop after he admitted last week that he shared explicit online messages with another woman more than a year after he resigned from Congress over a sexting scandal.

Weiner already quit his U.S. House seat. That's the way he rolls.

It is usually because they have been indicted.

...cheating on his wife when he said he would. Then this wouldn't be an issue. FWIW, I agree that this is between him and his wife. I also think it shows a lack of respect, character and untrustworthiness. If I were a young woman, it would creep me out to have to work with him.

It's not so much the act of sending pictures of his dick to people on the phone. It's kind of nasty but it's not the crime of the century either. It's that he does not seem to have the sense or the self-control to cease this kind of self-destructive behavior. I am afraid what that kind of character flaw would lead to in his public acts as an office holder.

lol. that sux.

the part i feel bad about though, is that at this point he's fighting the media and not even public opinion. And they are not going to back down.

that being said, he's just not a stand-up guy, and now he's going down.

we were talking about the psychology of his situation, i contend he has some major self-esteem issues, and that he knew he had to work on that s--t for real.

after having to quit congress and embarrassing himself sooooo badly, you'd think homeboy would be in therapy every single day if he had to. He certainly had enough time on his hands.

i don't think he did, i don't think he went to therapy on a weekly basis. That means you don't even have the dedication to get your shit together.

i dunno how i even feel about it anymore.

i wish he just hadn't done it so that i could dislike him for who he is, and not have to be concerned with all the grossness of people suggesting that sexting is perverted and he should drop out just for the act. Funnily enough, his sexting is the least creepy part about him.

I think his wife is finding out new things that are breaking her heart. That is why she is not out there with him.
