Funny how so many of those NYC things also pertained to Boston, especially the celebs in the neighborhood and walking into movie and TV shoots unaware that anything special was going on and totally incurious about what it was going to be.

but that just meant all the smart cabbies hit the street at 11 and made more in 3 hours than they'd have made all day hainging out at the airport.

The best place to eat at night was Mondos before it got gentrified out of existence by the Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market project.

IF you were from Queens, Brooklyn, or The Bronx, that was not the REAL NYC. Staten Island? You mean JERSEY?

If you got bored hanging out on the stoop, you'd catch a bus to South Ferry. When you got to Staten Island you'd hide in the bathroom so you wouldn't have to pay the fare back.



And you never knew, or cared, who Joseph Merrell was.

to cool off in the Summers, including at night. We just turned around and came back. This was before home window A/C. Yes, we also went up on the roof (like that old song said) to catch a breeze.
