Located approximately 10 miles south of Williamsport, PA on the left side of Route 15.

I stopped there with my kids for years on our cross-PA excursions. Wicked cool frogs...

If you like aircraft or space travel, it is definitely worth a stop. It is on the east side of Dulles Airport. Taking Rt. 15 to get there avoids the Beltway area traffic. Free admission, but they charge you to park.

Was looking for suggestions in NY and central PA along that weren't far off of the 15 south route.

BTW, the main air and space museum inside DC is cool too.

Last month, I drove south from Rochester on a Sunday morning. There were tons of NY State Police speed traps.

You can see them best from the east side of the river, just northwest of the downtown, and from a pedestrian bridge over the river. If you like Genessee Beer, they have a rooftop bar overlooking the falls.

Gettysburg has a very nice visitors center, which is a mile or so east of the battlefield. Downtown Gettysburg is an interesting place to walk around.

If you like the Civil War, Harrisburg has a Civil War Museum.

Most of the length of Route 15 is very rural.

US -15 is to far East for anything in Western Pa. On the weekends you could take the Pa Turnpike west and go to west.

If you are into biking you can go to Breezewood and stop and take a bike ride of the abandoned parts of the PA Turnpike, including two abandoned tunnels by passed in 1968 (This is an eight mile long bike trail, but with limited access).

A little easier to get to is the East Broad-top Railway, the largest NARROW gauge railroad remaining East of the Rockies. PLEASE CHECK TO SEE IF IT IS STILL RUNNING.

I can NOT find a schedule for 2015, for it appears East Broadtop Closed in 2012 and has never worked since.
